At Stanner Nutrition Clinic, remote consultations are always available, however these are currently the only available appointments during the current time, due to government guidelines on social distancing due to Covid-19.
Remote consultations offer the same high level of service that you can expect with face to face consultations, however they take place from within the comfort of your own home.
Once you have booked your remote consultation, you will be sent a healthcare screening form, this is to check your medical history as it is important that the dietitian is aware of any pre-existing medical conditions you may have, this helps to avoid you being given any dietary advice which may contradict a condition that the dietitian was not aware of. You will also be asked to fill in a food diary to assess your diet.
During your remote consultation, the dietitian will discuss your diet with you in relation to your health condition or goal that you wish to achieve. You will be given detailed explanations of the relationship between diet and any symptoms you are experiencing or explanations as to why your diet is preventing you from achieving certain goals. The dietitian will then work with you to plan what dietary changes are needed, your agreed goals will then be used to produce a written consultation summary, diet prescription or meal plan which will be emailed back to you following your appointment.
Each appointment comes with a free 6 week email support period for your treatment plan, so that you can ask questions or get more help or support while you get started.
Remote consultations can take place at your convenience from your home, you can choose from a variety of ways to have your consultation- from telephone or email to video link up with the dietitian. You do not need to download anything to your computer for a video link up- just ask the dietitian and you will be sent a link to take you to the virtual clinic room!
If you have any nutrition or dietary related health concerns that you wish to tackle, feel free to contact us to see how a consultation with a dietitian might help you.
